Lots to talk about.....

Marlee is doing swim team this summer with the City of Richland Parks and Recreation. She's having a great time and is a natural. In her first meet at Kennewick she got 1st in the 25m freestyle, 2nd in the 25m backstroke and 1st in the 100m freestyle relay. The next week she duplicated the results in the same events. This past Saturday (July 22) she did even better. She swept her events. First place in the 25m butterfly, 25m breast, 25m free, and 100m free relay. She's awesome. Pretty good for an 8 year old. The girl amazes me. She's so talented and smart and athletic. It makes me sad to think of what her life would be like if she still lived in the orphanage in Dandong. I know Heavenly Father has a plan for her. She has many great and wonderful things ahead of her; she will touch hearts and change people's lives. She's already changed mine.

We had a little scare today. Shannon has been having all kinds of problems with a variety of seemingly unrelated symptoms. Dr. Isaacson referred her to a neurologist. Today was the first visit. Long story short, she has an appointment next week for a brain and spinal cord MRI to see if she has MS. The doctor says it's a normal step in the diagnosis to eliminate the possibility of MS. So, now we get to play the waiting game until the MRI results are in.
